Update?

• Hi there everyone, haven't updated in quite some time, but just got around at catching up on all of which I was behind on!
• The past few weeks have been rather hectic, college unfortunately taking up most of my time (though I have this new resolution for which I swear not to rant about college and its doubtful usefulness in the future!)
• I also have been preparing quite an epic photo shoot scheduled for this coming Thursday. It is so much fun to grow older and have creative people on your side to guide you when picking out materials, clothes etc... I remember at my beginnings when I used to refuse the help of others simply because I feared that my vision would not benefit from it (oh my, lets not get all emotional here shall we!)
• The shoot (briefly speaking) is entitled The Last Blooming and will revolve around the idea of the last remaining flower before Autumn washes it away with its fresher nights (sometimes I can not believe I talk about this kind of fantasy crap all day, what one would not do to express himself, eh!)
• oh and I actually just got around at creating a Twitter account (and believe me I will not post it on every single upload, BEGING for all of you people who have a life to follow me, but eh, if ever you feel like, I dont know, be aware if what I am up to, then this will be the place :3)

Shoot prep & Other

• If I were to receive a penny for every time I change the date of a shoot this summer I would certainly be rich by now. I have no idea what's gotten into the weather lately but it surely is not very stable. I could basically count on my two hands how many sunny days we've had so far
• *aaalright, probably my fault as I keep saying how much I looove bad weather (no seriously, I feel like crying with joy when waking to the sound of rain) but enough already, assistants totally repel holding umbrellas over generators anyway*
• Photoshoot is scheduled for the 16th, and it is a go raining or not due to some clothes scheduling issues.
• ohh & did I mention that we've just added a new member to the family. His name is Bruno and he's all black with the cutest little white spot on his belly (yah, it's a LOLcat :3) I have yet to take the most adorable family pic of us! Believe it or not he actually brings his mouse to us, drops it right to out feet and waits for us to throw it at him again..I know, sooooo cute. Alright, Ill calm down now, he'll probably get on my nerves in two weeks top if he does not stop drinking from the whale faucet whilst I brush my teeth. haha
• Tomorrow Max and I are going to buy our Summer passes to La Ronde (got a great deal from a friend of mine who works there, she got them for only 55$ which is cheaper than a regular one-day admission) and then we are off to preparing everything for the shoot on Wednesday.
• Anyhow, tonight was the calmest I have been in weeks. We rented The Others (couldnt believe max had never seen it) and ate tacos for supper. My roomate and I played with the cat a little while and then well, max crashed onto my bed and for myself sneaked to the cumputer lol

• In a last effort to keep this blogging thing alive, Ive come up with a great new idea, I think...Was having a chat with an old friend of mine a few days ago and she made realize that I often rely on spontaneity on the day of a photoshoot in order to get some of my best shots and it has been working just fine as of now, but lately, when working with bigger crews, I found myself struggling at explaining what exactly I had in mind. Which is why I am trying this so-called shoot mockup concept, before each and every shoot. Not quite sure how itll go, but might as well try it.

• Outfits first and then location - First outfit is inspired by more of a funeral atmosphere than the actual romantic feeling I had in mind for the shoot. Strong padded shoulders and a very narrow waist, in addition to a fitted pencil skirt incorporated to the dress underneath the top. Props will probably incorporate arrows and apples stuck to multiple trees.

• Secong outfit is much more romantic, but still dramatic with its huge hair bow. Looks like its falling rather oddly on here, but we thought tucking the camisole in and pulling it out as it is an XL. (I just love clothes clips) Thanks to my boyfriend for the bow, and that lady at the fabric store for kindly showing us her massive bow-creating skills. Makeup is going to be strongly influenced by Spring09 runway show from gareth pugh, but without the structural eyeliner, and minus the hair, cos that was just plain awful.

• There is also a third outfit, but I just did not get around to shooting it. One of my roommates is moving out and my boyfriend is moving in so it's rather hectic in the house atm. Shoes and everything else is on its way, I just haven't found the right pair yet. Took me a while to find the right location for this shoot as I already had quite a good idea of how I wanted it to look like. Finally found it, minus the proximity to home factor. (which my assistants will murder me for!)

• To conclude, Id like to wish a happy Canada Day to all Canadians in the world, wherever you might be :) and that I am off to shooting a test shoot tomorrow. Next time I update this blog It will probably be with great new photographs! Oh and I promise you guys to take loads of snapshots and behind-the-scenes on this one, bought so much photo equipment over the last year and can't wait to share some of it on here!

• And again I ended up shooting this in the rain, with plastic bag all over our equipment. Not much fun when your portable generator clearly can not be covered as it would overheat the inverter. >.<
